COMMERCIAL USE

An "IN CASE OF FIRE ELEVATORS ARE OUT OF SERVICE - USE EXIT" sign is a type of signage commonly found in buildings to provide guidance during fire emergencies. It informs individuals that in the event of a fire, the elevators should not be used and directs them to use the nearest exit instead.

The purpose of this sign is to communicate important safety information and ensure that people are aware of the proper procedure to follow during a fire. It is essential to avoid using elevators during fires because they can become unsafe or trap individuals in the event of a power outage or mechanical failure.

The design of the sign may vary, but it typically features clear and visible text, such as "IN CASE OF FIRE ELEVATORS ARE OUT OF SERVICE - USE EXIT," often accompanied by symbols or arrows indicating the direction to the nearest exit. The sign is usually placed near elevator banks, stairwells, or other strategic locations where it can be easily seen and understood.

By displaying this sign, building owners or management aim to enhance fire safety awareness and guide individuals towards the appropriate exit routes in case of a fire emergency. It helps to prevent confusion, reduce the risk of accidents, and facilitate a swift and orderly evacuation.

During a fire emergency, it is crucial for individuals to follow the instructions on the sign and use designated exit routes, such as staircases, to evacuate the building safely. Using elevators during a fire can be extremely dangerous and should be avoided to ensure the well-being of everyone involved.
